 Octopus in red sauce

Preparation Time: 20 min

Cooking Time: 40-50 min

Ingredients:

1 fresh octopus (approx. 1 kg)

1 tomato, finely chopped

2 tablespoons tomato puree

¼ l dry red wine

1 onion, grated

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoons vinegar

salt

pepper

olive oil

 

Wash octopus thoroughly and cook in water until almost tender but not done.

Cut in generous pieces.

Heat olive oil in a saucepan. Mix the onion and wine together with all the other ingredients.

Add the octopus and simmer until done.

Serve with salad and freshly baked bread.
